BIBLIOTHEK II. Zu Beginn des Jahres wurden in der Bücherei die Gebühren erhöht, um den Etat für Neuanschaffungen stabil zu halten. Was aber wird eigentlich warum mit dem Geld gekauft?
Zur Vorstellung der Ausleihzahlen für 2008 in den Leipziger Städtischen Bibliotheken verriet Arne Ackermann, Leiter der Einrichtung, auch, dass man über eine Anhebung des Alters für eine kostenlose Nutzung nachdächte. Statt 14 Jahre soll die Altersgrenze künftig 18 Jahre betragen.
2008 ist die Zahl der Entleihungen in den Städtischen Bibliotheken der Stadt Leipzig im Vergleich zum Vorjahr um 350.000 gestiegen. Mit knapp 3,7 Millionen entliehenen Medien wurde ein neuer Rekord aufgestellt. Der Grund dafür war ziemlich simpel: eine Gebührenbefreiung.
Leipzig (ddp-lsc) Leipzig will den kostenlosen Eintritt für die städtischen Bibliotheken ausweiten Bisher brauchen lediglich Kinder und Jugendliche bis 14 Jahre keine Nutzungsgebühr zu zahlen.
