Zeitungsverleger fordern eine Reform der Mediengesetze in Deutschland. Bund und Länder müssten die „ungebremste Expansion“ des öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunks mit „staatlich finanzierten Presseprodukten“ im Netz stoppen.
Der Mindestlohn kommt, jedoch nicht flächendeckend. Die mächtige Lobby der Zeitungsverleger hat es geschafft, sich selbst von den gesetzlichen Regelungen auszuklammern.
Vielleicht könnten Journalisten nicht mehr vom Journalismus reich werden, "aber die Verleger durchaus immer noch", sagte der Medienökonom Frank Lobigs von der TU Dortmund.
„Auch wenn die Zeitungsverleger etwas anderes behaupten: Ein Mindestlohn für Zeitungszustellerinnen und Zeitungszusteller ist keine Gefahr für die Pressefreiheit und stellt keinen Eingriff in Grundrechte dar. Geschäftsmodelle, die auf Lohndumping beruhen, sind schlichtweg inakzeptabel“, erklärte Frank Werneke, stellvertretender ver.di-Vorsitzender, anlässlich der wiederholten Forderung des Bundesverbandes Deutscher Zeitungsverleger (BDZV), die Zustellbranche vom gesetzlichen Mindestlohn auszunehmen.
