As of April 1 2017, Lancashire Care will work in partnership with Blackburn with Darwen Council and other voluntary sector providers to deliver the new, fully integrated, Healthy Child Programme.
Following a competitive tendering process, the new programme will build on previous achievements in the borough by bringing together health visiting, school nursing, specialist infant feeding and other third sector services to provide a consolidated public health service for children aged 0-19 years.

In a previously published 12-week randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial of patients with schizophrenia experiencing an acute psychotic episode, aripiprazole once-monthly 400 mg (AOM 400) produced significantly greater improvement than placebo on the primary endpoint, Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) total score at week 10.

Devon Partnership NHS Trust ... has been awarded an overall rating of ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
The services inspected at Devon Partnership NHS Trust in December 2016 were rated as ‘good’ across the board in the five domains assessed by the CQC, these are Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led. Among these the Secure Service, which is based at Langdon in Dawlish, received a rating of ‘outstanding’ for its responsiveness.

The opportunity to swim and use gyms to improve their health can play a key role in someone’s recovery, so over 60 service users a month from Aspire Drug and Alcohol Service are accessing fitness facilities at over 10 locations across the borough, thanks to a reduced rate corporate membership with DCLT.
Local people were asked to ‘turn up and talk’ this week in Camberwell Library as part of an initiative that involves setting up ‘problem solving booths’ for people to share advice and help tackle each other’s problems.
This simple approach is being tested as a way to provide help, advice and signposting for local people. The project has been developed as part of Thrive London: a citywide movement for mental health, supported by the Mayor of London and the London Health Board that aims to make mental health a priority in London.

WHO regards access to primary care as a priority for all health systems, because of the benefits for population health and because of the changing nature of populations (more older people with chronic conditions) and the growing expectations of the public.1 In most developed countries, progress has been made in enabling people to use primary care services during routine office hours, and policymakers have begun to ask “how much access is enough”?
The two main drivers for extending access to general practices beyond traditional office hours are the possibility that longer opening hours would lead to reduced pressure on hospital services and the need for policy to respond to the pressure from patients for appointments with their primary care providers. Despite over a decade of efforts to reduce the adverse event rate in healthcare, the rate has remained relatively unchanged. Root cause analysis (RCA) is a process used by hospitals in an attempt to reduce adverse event rates; however, the outputs of this process have not been well studied in healthcare. Background: The British Columbia Centre for Disease Control implemented a comprehensive Web-based testing service GetCheckedOnline (GCO) in September 2014 in Vancouver, Canada. GCO’s objectives are to increase testing for sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBIs), reach high-prevalence populations facing testing barriers, and increase clinical STI service capacity
Conclusions: Our findings show a relation between the Microsoft Kinect-based version of the CPT and ADHD symptomatology assessed through parental report.
