Die französische Regierung hat am 25. Oktober einen Aktionsplan zu Gesundheits- und Umweltfragen für das Freihandelsabkommen CETA vorgelegt. Der französische Vorschlag kann jedoch nur angewendet werden, wenn die EU und Kanada zustimmen.
Beide Regierungen seien für den Abschluss einer "ehrgeizigen, ausgewogenen" Vereinbarung, heißt es in einer am Donnerstag veröffentlichen bilateralen Erklärung. Aber man werde darauf achten, dass zentrale Forderungen erfüllt würden: EU-Unternehmen müssten Zugang zu öffentlichen Aufträgen in den USA bekommen, auch auf Ebene der US-Bundesstaaten. Genannt werden zudem der nötige Schutz geografischer Angaben europäischer Produkte und bestimmter Dienstleistungen sowie das Festschreiben von Nachhaltigkeitszielen und der sozialen Verantwortung von Unternehmen.
