Die französische Regierung hat am 25. Oktober einen Aktionsplan zu Gesundheits- und Umweltfragen für das Freihandelsabkommen CETA vorgelegt. Der französische Vorschlag kann jedoch nur angewendet werden, wenn die EU und Kanada zustimmen.
Nachdem Kanada CETA am 17. Mai ratifiziert hat, kann das Freihandelsabkommen in den nächsten Wochen provisorisch in Kraft treten. Dadurch wird allerdings auch Emmanuel Macrons Versprechen, ein Expertenausschuss über die Auswirkungen des Abkommens aufzustellen, gefährdet.
