Die Internet Speculative Fiction Database ist eine bibliographische Datenbank der internationalen Science-Fiction-, Fantasy- und Horrorliteratur. Sie wird als autoritativ angesehen und ständig aktualisiert. Enthalten sind mehr als 46.000 Einträge über Autoren mit Angaben zu über 47.000 Romanen und circa 82.000 kürzeren Erzähltexten.

GESA ist ein GESAmtkatalog, der sämtliche der Forschungsstelle für Personalschriften zugängliche, in Bibliotheken und Archiven verzeichnete Leichenpredigten mit Hilfe der EDV nach bestimmten Kriterien erschließt. Bislang wurden 191.255 Datensätze erfaßt. Der aufgrund einer Stichprobe ermittelte Anteil katholischer Leichenpredigten in den von der Forschungsstelle bislang bearbeiteten Bestände beträgt sieben Prozent. Die Fremdkataloge enthalten in der Regel keine Angabe zur Konfession.

While the seed of the emblem as a genre was sown in Germany in 1531, it flowered and developed in France during the 16th century, and it was from there that it spread throughout Europe.
