Der jetzige Rechtsrahmen behindere den schnellen Ausbau und müsse geändert werden, forderte der Deutsche Städte- und Gemeindebund, der heute in Berlin ein Rechtsgutachten vorgelegt hat.
Damit die EU führend in der IKT-Grundlagenforschung werden kann, muss sie ihr bisheriges Engagement verdoppeln, erklärte EU-Kommissarin Viviane Reding bei der Tagung "Science Beyond Fiction" und kündigte eine Erhöhung der Forschungsförderung an.
Die Bundesregierung will ab Mitte 2009 im Rahmen von E-Government 2.0 technische und rechtliche Rahmenbedingungen für eine "sichere und verbindliche elektronische Kommunikation" einführen. Das Bundesforschungsministerium hat am heutigen Dienstag die fünf Sieger der ersten Runde des sogenannten Spitzencluster-Wettbewerbs bekannt gegeben. Ziel des mit bis zu 200 Millionen Euro Fördergeldern dotierten Wettbewerbs – der nur indirekt etwas mit der Verknüpfung von Rechenkapazitäten zu tun hat – sei es, Deutschlands leistungsfähigste Forschungsverbünde aus Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft einer Region zu stärken "und sie auf dem Weg in die internationale Spitzengruppe zu unterstützen", erklärte Forschungsministerin Annette Schavan (CDU).
