ARD und ZDF gehören bekanntlich zu den Unterzeichnern eines Aufrufs an die Bundesregierung, das Anti-Piraterie-Abkommen ACTA »ohne weitere Verzögerung wie bereits beschlossen zu unterzeichnen«. Ich habe — ursprünglich für eine »Spiegel«-Geschichte, in der das dann aber keinen Platz fand — bei den Sendern nachgefragt, welche Konsequenzenes für sie hätte, wenn ACTA nicht unverzüglich und unverändert unterzeichnet würde.

Lange hat Amnesty International zum umstrittenen Urheberrechtsabkommen Acta geschwiegen. Nun meldet sich Chefjuristin Widney Brown im Gespräch mit NZZ Online mit schweren Vorwürfen zu Wort. Unterstützung erhält sie indirekt von EU-Kommissarin Viviane Reding.
Laut einem internen Protokoll aus dem Ministerrat sollen die im "Anti-Piraterie"-Abkommen enthaltenen Maßnahmen zum Muster aller künftigen, internationalen Abkommen über "geistige Eigentumsrechte" werden.

Die Abkürzung ACTA steht für das plurilaterale Handelsabkommen «Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement». Die teilnehmenden Nationen und Staatenbünde geben an, damit den Kampf gegen Produktpiraterie verbessern zu wollen.
