Die EU-Kommission hat den angekündigten „strukturierten Urheberrechtsdialog“ mit Interessenvertretern unter dem Titel „Lizenzen für Europa“ aufgenommen. Kritiker monieren, dass tiefgreifende Änderungen offenbar vermieden werden sollen.

In drei Ausschüssen votierten die Abgeordneten am Donnerstag gegen das Anti-Piraterie-Abkommen. Die Voten im federführenden Handelsgremium sowie im Plenum stehen im Juni beziehungsweise Juli an.
Laut einem internen Protokoll aus dem Ministerrat sollen die im "Anti-Piraterie"-Abkommen enthaltenen Maßnahmen zum Muster aller künftigen, internationalen Abkommen über "geistige Eigentumsrechte" werden.
Handelskomissar Karel de Gucht und Michel Barnier (Binnenmarkt) treiben das umstrittene Abkommen voran. Die für „geistiges Eigentum“ zuständige Juristin der Kommission war bis 2004 Top-Lobbyistin der Musikindustrie.
