NICE are drafting guidance for the care and support of older people with learning disabilities, and the draft documents are currently open for consultation until 15 December.
We gave a questionnaire to self-advocates who were attending a conference. The questionnaire asked them how they felt about the information they get with their medicine.
Fifty-eight people completed the questionnaire. Many of them said they did not get enough information about their medicine. Most people wanted easy-read leaflets and pictures.

Belfast Trust Speech & Language team have launched a new website with information on how to avoid choking and what steps to take if an incident happens.
The guide, titled 'Domestic Violence and Abuse - Easy Read Information', has been specially designed by clinicians, and people with learning disabilities themselves, to be easily understood.
