Nicht jedes Institut hat eine Bibliothek, die zum Lesen und Lernen geeignet ist, und so begibt sich der Student auf die Suche nach der passenden Bibliothek, hier ist Entscheidungs- und weniger Experimentierfreudigkeit gefragt, denn Bibliotheken gibt es an der FU viele, in der größten ist sogar die Möglichkeit gegeben, sich bis 22 Uhr aufzuhalten und diese auch an Samstagen und Sonntagen aufzusuchen.
Dass der FU Geld für eine gute Ausbildung fehle, macht sich in den Bibliotheken bemerkbar: "Viele Bücher sind veraltet, nur wenige neue werden angeschafft. Da viele kleine Bibliotheken mit den großen zusammengelegt werden, fehlen dort nun Arbeitsplätze."

Mit einem überwältigenden Erfolg endete jüngst die erste Solidarische Lernolympiade. »Alle unsere Erwartungen wurden übertroffen«, erklärt die Organisatorin Astrid Ohnmacht. Unter dem Motto »Jede Stunde zählt« lernten und studierten an 14 Bibliotheken 1933 Schüler und Studierende. Überraschend hoch die Zahl der Frauen: Mit 1164 jagten sie den Männern deutlich den Rang ab.
Berlin (ddp-bln). Die Stimmung im Berliner Kulturbereich hat einen deutlichen Dämpfer erhalten. Auf einer Skala von 0 bis 100 sank der Kulturindex zur Lageeinschätzung der Kulturinstitutionen und -unternehmen im Vergleich zum Frühjahr um 8 auf nunmehr 45 Punkte, wie ein Sprecher der Industrie- und Handelskammer (IHK) am Freitag mitteilte. Dies sei der schlechteste Wert seit Herbst 2005.

(PA) Gestern Abend wurde dem Bürgerverein Pro Kiez anlässlich des internationalen Tag des Ehrenamts 2008 der Pankower Ehrenamtspreis verliehen. Darin sehen wir eine Anerkennung unseres Engagements zum Erhalt der Kurt-Tucholsky-Bibliothek. Das freut uns und dafür sind wir dankbar.
Auch die Bibliotheken, die in den vergangenen Jahren umstrukturiert wurden und kleine Standorte geschlossen haben, konnten ihr Angebot bei sinkenden Kosten verbessern. 2007 wurden 18,2 Millionen Bücher, CDs und andere Medien ausgeliehen, 2002 waren es erst 15,4 Millionen. Die durchschnittlichen Kosten sanken von 1,49 Euro auf 1,09 Euro.
Daher müssten alle Ausgaben genau geprüft werden. Neue Bücher für Bibliotheken könnten nicht finanziert werden. Musik- und Volkshochschule bekommen weniger Honorarmittel.
Mit knapp 3 Mio. Euro aus Berliner Mitteln des Europäischen Fonds für regionale Entwicklung (EFRE) fördert die Berliner Kulturverwaltung das Projekt "PROFILE HU" der Humboldt-Universität zur Entwicklung innovativer Dienst- und Serviceleistungen.
Harte Zeiten kommen auf die Lichtenberger Bürger zu: Ob Bibliotheken, Jugendarbeit oder Grünanlagen – überall muss rigoros gespart werden. 9,2 Millionen Euro Schulden belasten den Bezirkshaushalt. Ein Bürgeramt wird sogar geschlossen.
