User Interface Research (UIR) is a research group in the Information Sciences & Technology Lab at PARC. Our charter is to develop new techniques for people to interact with large information environments. On the one hand, we have computer scientists working on new user interface paradigms; on the other hand, we have cognitive scientists working on the technical analysis of human behavior in information environments.
The simple, flexible Marathon Java testing tool reached version 1.0. With this Marathon garnered the ability to record almost all actions on standard Java/Swing controls including drag and drop. Marathon records all actions on unrecognized user interface elements, so you can use Marathon for even automating actions on non-standard components. Use custom component resolvers to further extend Marathon to record semantic actions on your custom components. Benefit from the improvements to Marathon, like dock-able windows, cut&paste operations in the editors and of course, tabbed editing facilities. Download Marathon now and explore the possibilities of test automation.
Project OpenJFX is a project of the OpenJFX community for sharing early versions of the JavaFX Script language and for collaborating on its development. In the future, the JavaFX Script code will be open sourced. The governance, licensing, and community models will be worked out as the project evolves.
Abeille Forms Designer is a GUI builder for Java applications. Developers and designers can create complex, professional forms in minutes. Designers can drag and drop components onto a WYSIWYG editor. Full support for undo/redo and copy/paste is provided. Components can be easily customized by adding images or modifying their properties. Advanced fill effects are supported such as textures and gradients.
Abeille has intuitive layout rules and is based on the JGoodies FormLayout system (https://forms.dev.java.net). The FormLayout is a popular, open source layout manager for Java and is used by thousands of developers worldwide. Abeille comes with all the required software.
Abeille stores forms in binary files which can be loaded by your application and added to any Swing container. While the designer is licensed under the LGPL, the forms runtime has a BSD license. This allows forms created by the designer to be used freely in commercial applications.

The goal of the DoCASU project is to provide to the Alfresco Community a Custom Alfresco UI:
* with a strong focus on User eXperience (e.g. ease of use, responsiveness)
* which will be less confusing for average end users (99% vs. the 1% power users),
* which will permit a broader acceptance of the solution by a larger group of users
* and being a scalable solution based on the assembly of standard components.
With Marathon you capture user interactions on the applications and also insert assertions to verify that correct processing is taking place. The generated raw script can be refactored to modules for efficient reuse and maintainability. Replay the scripts either manually or integrate Marathon into your build process for automatic execution of the test suites.
