Der Kölner Bücherbus, eine 300.000 Euro teure Einrichtung, die seit dem November vergangenen wieder in städtischem Auftrag durch das Kölner Stadtgebiet fährt, hat nun eine 17. Haltestelle. Zukünftig wird der Bücherbus auch an der Ecke Theodor-Heuss-Ring / Clever Straße halten. Allerdings muss sich der neue Standort den Donnerstagstermin (17:15 bis 19 Uhr) mit dem Standort Hackenbroicherstraße (Köln-Worringen) teilen.
19. Oktober 2008 Alois Springer sitzt im Untergeschoss der Stadtbücherei – vor einem Klavier. Gestöpselt in das Gehäuse ist ein Kopfhörer. Springer zieht ihn über den kurzen grauen Haarkranz und stülpt sich die handtellergroßen Polster über die Ohren. Dann schlägt er ein Notenheft auf: Frédéric Chopins „Walzer“. Es sind seine eigenen Noten. Die randlose Brille, die an einem Band hängt, baumelt vor dem schwarzen Rollkragenpullover, als der 72 Jahre alte Dirigent die Tasten drückt. Kein Ton. Das „Silent Piano“ von Yamaha bleibt stumm. Nur Springer hört, was er spielt. Seine Anschläge klingen wie das stumpfe Tippeln der Fingerkuppen auf einem Tisch. Beinahe laut dagegen klackern die Tastaturen der Computer, die an den Wänden der Bücherei stehen.
