Der Deutsche Kulturrat, der Spitzenverband der Bundeskulturverbände, hält den ausverhandelten CETA-Vertragstext für nicht zustimmungsfähig. CETA ist ein umfassendes Abkommen, das kanadischen Unternehmen weitreichenden Zutritt auf den europäischen Güter- und Dienstleistungsmarkt auch im Kultur-, Bildungs-, Wissenschafts- und Medienbereich ermöglicht.
In Bezug auf Nettesheim: Dem Kulturbereich im CETA-Abkommen wurde kein eigenständiger und angemessener Raum verschafft und zwischen der Programmatik der Präambel und den konkreten operativen Bestimmungen besteht bewusst eine Differenz.
Bildung als geldwerte Dienstleistung sollte nicht Teil eines Freihandelsabkommens werden, sagte Udo Beckmann, Vorsitzender des Lehrerverbandes Bildung und Erziehung, im DLF. Er befürchtet, dass durch Abkommen wie TiSA, das zurzeit neben TTIP ausgehandelt wird, die Qualität der deutschen Schulbildung in Gefahr ist.
Die geplanten transatlantischen Freihandelsabkommen zwischen der EU und den USA (TTIP) sowie Kanada (CETA) werden gegenwärtig breit diskutiert – auch im Bereich Bildung und Kultur. Vertreterinnen und Vertreter der Kommission für europäische und internationale Angelegenheiten der Kultusministerkonferenz (EuKiA) sowie weiterer Fachausschüsse der KMK haben über mögliche Auswirkungen auf den Bildungs- und Kulturbereich am Montag, den 16. November 2015, in einer Fachtagung in Berlin diskutiert.
Deutschland wird durch die geplanten EU-Freihandelsabkommen mit Kanada und den USA für den Bildungssektor keine neuen Marktzugangsverpflichtungen übernehmen und behält die Möglichkeit für Rechtsänderungen. Das haben die Staatssekretäre Matthias Machnig, Bundeswirtschaftsministerium, und Dr. Georg Schütte, Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, der HRK versichert.

Seit die USA und die EU über das transatlantische Freihandelsabkommen TTIP verhandeln, ist die Skepsis in der deutschen Bevölkerung groß. Eine aktuelle Studie der Bertelsmann-Stiftung sagt: mehr als ein Drittel der deutschen Bevölkerung hält TTIP für eine schlechte Idee. Viele befürchten, dass der Vertrag uns Deutschen sinkende Qualitätsstandards beschert.
Pressemitteilung: Die Hochschulrektorenkonferenz (HRK) fordert, Bildung aus dem geplanten Freihandelsabkommen zwischen der EU und den USA, TTIP, explizit auszunehmen. Bildungsdienstleistungen werden dort nicht als öffentliche Aufgabe („public services“) definiert. Nach der Logik des Abkommens müssen alle Bereiche, die von ihm nicht erfasst werden sollen, explizit ausgeschlossen werden.
Die Ungewissheit darüber, was die USA und die EU im Rahmen von TTIP für den Bereich Bildung aushandeln, lässt viele Befürchtungen aufkommen - von sinkenden Qualitätsstandards und Klagen von US-Unternehmen ist die Rede. Der Bildungsausschuss des EU-Parlaments hat nun Forderungen aufgestellt, wie die Bildung vor zu viel Markt geschützt werden soll.
Im Schatten von Ceta und TTIP: Das weltweite Dienstleistungsabkommen Tisa ist weitgehend unbekannt. Gegner fürchten, EU-Löhne könnten gedrückt, riskante Finanzprodukte zugelassen oder Datenschutz ausgehebelt werden.
In einer gemeinsamen Resolution warnen die nationalen Dachverbände des Musiklebens aus Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz vor den möglichen Folgen der internationalen Abkommen TTIP und TISA für Bildung und Kultur. Die Musikräte rufen zu einem breit angelegten Diskurs zur gesellschaftlichen Bedeutung von Musik auf.
Es ist gerade einmal ein Jahr her, dass die im Rahmen der EU-Dienstleistungsrichtlinie vorgesehene geplante Privatisierung der Trinkwasserversorgung die Gemüter hierzulande erhitzte. Verblüffend schnell ließ die EU-Kommission das Thema fallen. Ein Schelm, wer Böses dabei denkt.
Kulturverantwortliche und Verbraucher schlagen seit längerem Alarm wegen des geplanten transatlantischen Freihandelsabkommens. Jetzt
wird auch die Kritik aus dem Bildungssektor lauter.
Europa und die USA wollen die größte Freihandelszone der Welt schaffen. Das Abkommen soll neue Arbeitsplätze und mehr Wachstum bringen. Doch was ist wirklich dran an solchen Versprechen?
