Diese Woche steht die zwölfte TTIP-Verhandlungsrunde zwischen den USA und der EU in Brüssel an. Tritt die dort verhandelte Transatlantische Handels- und Investitionspartnerschaft (TTIP) in Kraft (geplant: 2016), wird das gravierende negative Folgen für die Agrarwirtschaft in Deutschland haben.
Um was geht es in den einzelnen Kapiteln von TTIP? Wo besteht weitgehende Einigkeit zwischen der EU und den USA, wo gibt es grundlegende Differenzen? An dieser Stelle erklären wir es – und zeigen in unserem Verhandlungsbarometer auf einen Blick, wie weit die Verhandlungen gediehen sind.

TTIP steht offenbar vor dem Scheitern: Der Verhandlungsführer des EU-Parlaments glaubt nicht mehr an einen Erfolg unter der Regierung von US-Präsident Obama. Danach würde es noch schlechter aussehen.
Politiker versprechen, die Fluchtursachen in den armen Ländern zu bekämpfen. Gleichzeitig versucht die EU, in Afrika ein verheerendes Freihandelsabkommen durchzusetzen.
Der Zentralverband des Deutschen Handwerks wirbt für das transatlantische Freihandelsabkommen TTIP. Einige Kleinunternehmer allerdings äußern Bedenken.

Es drängt sich also der Verdacht auf, dass hier – entgegen der empirischen Faktenlage – versucht wird, einen Mythos zu schaffen, der da lautet: Die Vorteile von CETA und Co. fallen primär den KMUs zu. Dies ist nur insofern verständlich, als dass es derzeit wenig populär ist einzuräumen, dass sich vor allem große Unternehmen über CETA freuen dürfen. Schlussendlich ist jedoch eine derartige Mythenbildung einer sachlichen Debatte nicht dienlich. Es wäre geboten, sich neben den Handels- und Effizienzeffekten, die aus Freihandelsabkommen resultieren, auch ernsthaft mit deren Verteilungswirkungen auseinanderzusetzen.
Die Bedeutung des internationalen Marktzugangs hat in Bezug auf den Wohlstand der Schweiz in den vergangenen Jahren zugenommen. Da von der Welthandelsorganisation WTO seit mehreren Jahren keine Impulse mehr in Richtung Marktöffnung ausgingen, hat die Schweiz auf die Karte «Freihandelsabkommen» gesetzt. Dies mit grossem Erfolg. Damit das aber so bleibt, braucht es weitere Abkommen und gleichzeitig die stetige Verbesserung der bestehenden.
Viele Betriebe berichten, ihre Banken hätten ihnen Kredite verweigert oder Wucher-Zinsen verlangt. Die Angst wächst, dass nur große Player die Krise überleben.
