The power of Decision Management in this kind of scenario is threefold.
Firstly it focuses on the decisions themselves - what decisions matter to the customer interaction. This ensures that the data being collected and used is that which will make a difference. Beginning with the decision in mind in this way focuses analytics and data gathering.
Secondly it allows the decision to be made consistently across channels so that customers get the same service from the agent at the gate, the call center, the service center or the kiosk. Operational BI assumes there is a person to make the decision and so cannot deliver this true cross-channel consistency.
Thirdly, Decision Management recognizes that policies and regulations matter as much, sometimes more, than data. Presenting the data and even its analysis to someone who then fails to follow procedure is not helpful. Decision Management combines the policy aspects of a decision with the analytic aspects in a way Operational BI does not.
OpenLexicon is an open-source business rules and process management tool that rapidly develops applications for transaction and process-based applications. OpenLexicon is known for providing high performance solutions and has been used in a number of enterprise-level applications. You can read about these here . You can use either product separately or in concert. There are two main components of OpenLexicon: the metadata repository and the business rules engine. Major components of OpenLexicon are released as open source software under the OpenLexicon OpenSource License. A good overview of the business rules approach is available here .OpenLexicon has a Wizard that is a web-form based collaborative tool for building business rules and business use cases. For a brief overview of the wizard, look at this link . We have designed the Wizard for non-developers and analysts with light technical skills. It features a richer experience for the users on the web, traditionally only offered by thick-client UIs. The collaboration team assembles groups of business rules into a business use case and published in a metadata file or the database. OpenLexicon provides solid support for web services. You can read about the OpenLexicon WSDL here . There is also an eclipse plug-in for web services here . You create complex application behavior with OpenLexicon’s process management. OpenLexicon can build an application reads data from a file, performs reference data lookups, validates the entire object, and then stores it in a database table. You can read about this here . Plus, you can build the application in the Wizard while writing no code! OpenLexicon also supports web services. A simple architecture diagram for OpenLexicon is included here .

To help scientists decide which one of the many systems to use, we have tested some of the most relevant applications (commercial and non-commercial) as to how well the respective software performs in five different categories. These reflect the most significant abilities and features of reference management software. In the table below, each application is rated in each category with a simple star rating system (1 = poor, 5 = perfect). Clicking on the star ratings opens a detailed comparison table with more information about the test results. The order of the applications in the table reflects the order in which they were added to the comparison.
The MAEXO project enables JMX based management of OSGi containers and applications. It offers an easy to use programming model for dealing with JMX resources within an OSGi application.
As a showcase, the framework is used to export core OSGi services and resources to JMX.
The project aims at portability, minimal dependencies and user-friendliness.
The project consists of:
* The Switch Board bundle: The MAEXO core component to link MBeans, MBean Notifications, MBean-Servers and MBean-Server-Connections with the OSGi environment
* The OSGi-Core MBeans bundle: Exporter of bundles available in the the OSGi container and services from the OSGi Core specification as MBeans (FrameworkMBean, BundleMBean, ServiceMBean, PackageAdminMBean and StartLevelMBean)
* The MX4J HTTP adaptor bundle: The MX4J HTTP adaptor to be used within the OSGi container
* Various samples which demonstrate how to enable management of OSGi based applications using MAEXO and the integration with other technologies (Declarative Services, Spring Dynamic Modules).

Both for individual researchers as for research groups or projects, it is of major importance to organize the literature one has read. A well organized bibliography is a powerful instrument. It speeds up the search for publications one has already read and supports the user in structuring information. Aigaion provides a bibliography management software environment that supports a user in just this: Organizing and managing a complete bibliography, from small bibliographies to bibliographies for a complete research department.
The Sysinternals web site was created in 1996 by Mark Russinovich and Bryce Cogswell to host their advanced system utilities and technical information. Microsoft acquired Sysinternals in July, 2006. Whether you’re an IT Pro or a developer, you’ll find Sysinternals utilities to help you manage, troubleshoot and diagnose your Windows systems and applications.
