scalaxb-appengine is a RESTful API to run scalaxb over the web. It's implemented using n8han/Unfiltered and the full source is available on eed3si9n/scalaxb-appengine. scalaxb-appengine came into being because I didn't know how to deploy a command line application written in Scala. Greg kindly suggested that I turn scalaxb into a web service, so I did. I guess I always thought about the possibility of making it into a web app, but this gave me a perfect opportunity to seize the moment and write a web app in Scala.

Olio is a is a web2.0 toolkit to help evaluate the suitability, functionality and performance of web technologies. Olio defines an example web2.0 application ( an events site somewhat like yahoo.com/upcoming) and provides three initial implementations : PHP, Java EE and RubyOnRails (ROR). The toolkit also defines ways to drive load against the application in order to measure performance. We encourage alternate implementations of the application by either completely re-writing the application using a different language (say python), higher-level frameworks (such as CakePHP)

Relational databases define a strict structure and provide a rigid way to maintain data for a software application. Apache's open source CouchDB offers a new method of storing data, in what is referred to as a schema-free document-oriented database model. Instead of the highly structured data storage of a relational model, CouchDB stores data in a semi-structured fashion, using a JavaScript-based view model for generating structured aggregation and report results from these semi-structured documents.
