Roland Reuß, der Initiator des "Heidelberger Appells" gegen die kostenlose Publikation staatlich geförderter Forschungsergebnisse im Internet, wehrt sich gegen "dem Gemeinwohl verpflichtete Irre".
Die Justizministerin hat Google als große Gefahr für das Urheberrecht ausgemacht. Angesichts der "zahlreichen Verletzungen des geistigen Eigentums im Internet" fragte sich die Ministerin auch, ob eine stärkere Regulierung des Netzes erforderlich ist.
Die Vereinigung der Österreichischen Internet-Anbieter (ISPA) und die Wirtschaftskammer (WKÖ) befürchten, dass mit dem umstrittenen Anti-Piraterie-Abkommen (ACTA) auch in Österreich Netzsperren nach Urheberrechtsverstößen Einzug halten könnten. Anlass dazu liefert auch ein vor kurzem ergangener Beschluss des Europäischen Gerichtshofs zur Rolle und Verantwortung der Internet-Provider bei Urheberrechtsverletzungen.
