Abstract
"The article presents a proposal to help achieve equitable gender representation among faculty in higher education in the United States. A discussion of the slowness of universities' hiring processes towards women is presented. While women make up a majority of undergraduate degree earners nationwide, and nearly 46% of Ph.D. earners nationwide, according to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), they rarely make up more than 30% of faculty at research extensive universities in the country."
