Russen und Chinesen haben Zugriff auf die Snowden-Dokumente, behauptet die britische "Sunday Times". Zitiert werden nur anonyme Quellen, der Text ist voller Ungereimtheiten. Er hat offenbar nur ein Ziel: den Whistleblower zu diskreditieren.
Der Streit um die Ehrendoktorwürde für Edward Snowden geht vor Gericht weiter: Die Philosophische Fakultät der Universität Rostock will beim Schweriner Verwaltungsgericht Klage einreichen.
Gleich zu Anfang des Films erklingt die Stimme der Frau, ohne die es die Snowden-Enthüllungen vielleicht nicht gegeben hätte. «Laura», liest Laura Poitras vor. «Zu diesem Zeitpunkt kann ich dir nichts weiter anbieten außer mein Wort. Ich bin ein hochrangiger Mitarbeiter der Geheimdienste.»
Bevor Edward Snowden sich mit vier Laptops im Gepäck auf den Weg nach Hongkong machte, hatte er eine Reihe verschlüsselter E-Mails an die Regisseurin Laura Poitras geschickt, unterschrieben mit "Citizen Four". Poitras traf damals Snowden in Hongkong und hat ihn seitdem mit der Kamera begleitet. Nun hat sie daraus einen beeindruckenden Film gemacht.
Der NSA-Ausschuss erfragt nur, was er schon lange hätte wissen können. Echte Aufklärung geschieht dort nicht. Das übernehmen allein die Medien, nicht die Parlamentarier.

Dank den Hinweisen aus den USA seien in Deutschland Anschläge verhindert worden, sagt der Innenminister. Kritik an der Datenüberwachung durch den NSA sei unangebracht.
