Google öffnet heute sein Entwicklungszentrum in Zürich offiziell. Zürich ist Googles größter Forschungsstandort außerhalb der vereinigten Staaten. Das neue Zentrum soll als Drehscheibe für die Entwicklungs- und Forschungsvorhaben in Europa, im mittleren Osten und Afrika (EMEA) fungieren. Von mehr als 3500 Google-Mitarbeitern in dieser Region arbeiten immerhin 800 in der Forschung und in der Entwicklung. Das Züricher Zentrum beherbergt davon 300 Mitarbeiter aus 40 Nationen. Die Züricher Mitarbeiter entwickeln unter anderem Anti-Spam-Lösungen für Google Mail und Software für die Google-interne Anwendungsinfrastruktur.
